Mendo County Supers Approve Noise Ordinance

Mendocino County Supervisors have tentatively approved a noise ordinance for unincorporated areas, prohibiting constant noise over 60 dB or intermittent noise over 75 dB at adjacent homes from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. Enforced by the sheriff, violations progress from a warning to a public nuisance after three citations within 90 days. Final approval is expected on April 7 or 21, taking effect 30 days later. Exceptions include school events, emergency warnings, and “right to farm/industry” activities.
