Lake County Behavioral Health Services will close two of its five peer support centers, Big Oak and Circle of Native Minds, on June 1. The closures, among the first linked to California’s Proposition 1. These centers provide crucial early intervention, with Big Oak offering general assistance, and Circle of Native Minds gives culturally specific mental health support, mainly to local tribal elders who will face severely strained services.
