Oscar Lil Bear Martinez, 26, of Covelo, was arrested Feb. 19 while fleeing a traffic stop led to reckless driving and a crash into a tree. Martinez, wanted on two felony warrants and on probation for assault with a deadly weapon, fled on foot but was caught. Deputies found a loaded, stolen handgun in his vehicle, violating his probation. He was booked without bail into Mendocino County Jail on numerous weapons charges, probation violation, and two active felony warrants. The MCSO investigation is ongoing.
