The Golden State Finance Authority’s ReCoverCA Homebuyer Assistance Program provides low- to moderate-income households, including 2017 Clearlake residents, a zero-interest, no-payment deferred loan up to $350,000 to buy homes in lower wildfire risk areas. The loan is forgiven after five years. Applicants must have lived in a primary residence within a qualifying 2017 disaster’s High/Very High Fire Severity Zone and meet income limits.
