Over three months after local journalist and Ukiah High teacher Matthew P. LaFever’s arrest for alleged inappropriate behavior with a student, the Mendocino County DA’s Office has not filed criminal charges. DA David Eyster has said the office awaits a “Special Master” ruling on journalistic privilege for evidence seized. LaFever is on paid administrative leave by the Ukiah Unified School.
