A Mendocino County jury convicted David Lee Roy McCarty, 39, of Redwood Valley, of felony drunken driving charges on Friday. The conviction follows a September 2023, head-on collision south of Hopland after McCarty crossed out of his lane. He was found guilty of DUI and causing severe injuries to the driver and injuring two passengers. McCarty is scheduled to return to court Thursday for potential arguments for a tougher sentence.
