First Snowpack Check Of Season Looks Promising For State Water Supply

Recent atmospheric river storms have boosted the water supply and snowpack, which were lagging earlier in the water year.  On Tuesday, the Department of Water Resources’ first snow survey recorded 50% of the average for the location. Snow water equivalent measures water in the snowpack and is key for DWR’s water supply forecast.  Statewide, the snowpack is 71 percent of average for this date.
