The Lake County Sheriff’s Office has updated information on the fatal single-engine plane crash near Pole Butte, south of Silver Lake. The pilot, 66-year-old Jeffry Scott Gorman, was flying from Susanville, CA, to Salem, OR, and died as the sole occupant. A dog on board had to be euthanized due to severe injuries. The cause is under investigation.
