Periods of heavy rain and an increased risk for flooding Friday into this weekend…A coastal flood watch goes into effect New Year’s morning and will continue through Saturday afternoon. High astronomical tides and large surf may cause moderate to major flooding in low-lying areas along the Mendocino Coast. Several coastal roads may be closed. Low-lying property and some critical infrastructure will be inundated, and some shoreline erosion may occur.
