Effective January 1, new California driving laws include: a work zone radar/laser speed-ticketing pilot program; a July 1 mandate for Autonomous Vehicles to have a two-way communication device for first responders; new e-bike laws requiring a constant rear red reflector/light, and expanding the “slow down and move over law” to include any stationary highway maintenance or flashing hazard light vehicle among others go into effect.
