Vehicle Over Cliff Near Navarro Point Preserve

A vehicle plunged off the roadway near Navarro Point Preserve late Monday morning, triggering a multi-agency search-and-rescue operation. Reported at 10:29 a.m., callers described a vehicle over a cliff south of the preserve, estimated to be 100 feet down. Responders were uncertain if anyone was inside. Albion Fire, CAL FIRE, and CHP arrived after 10:50 a.m. Fire crews prepared for a technical rescue while CHP attempted communication. Caltrans was called for traffic control. The incident commander announced the cancellation of the SAR operation just after noon, after a thorough search. The incident was handed over to CHP for a collision investigation.
