Lucerne Man Appears on Fentanyl Murder Charges

A Lucerne man appeared in Lake County Superior Court on Wednesday for a denied motion to consolidate in his fentanyl-related murder case. 40-year-old Ryan John Stahl previously pleaded not guilty in September to murder and controlled substance charges, stemming from the February fentanyl overdose death of Carissa Morton, 28, of Nice, who he allegedly supplied. Arrested in June, the Court previously set custody at NO BAIL, citing public safety risk after reviewing reports and victim impact statements. Stahl’s jury trial is set for next month.
