Lake County Board Of Supers Finds More Funding For Hunger Relief

The Lake County Board of Supervisors added more funding to hunger relief efforts, totaling $140,000 since November 4th. The funding addresses “unprecedented demand” from the recent federal shutdown. The county, partnering with Redwood Empire Food Bank, has already spent $70,000 on food, $9,500 on MREs, and $500 on bus passes. Officials are concerned about a potential January 31, 2026, government shutdown.
