Fort Bragg Launches Pilot Program

On Friday, Fort Bragg deployed the states first  zero-emission, wave-powered desalination pilot buoy with Oneka Technologies for the ResilenSea Project to fight drought.  The  $1.5 million buoy produces 13,200 gallons of freshwater daily using wave power, saving 50 tons of CO₂ annually. The 12-month trial assesses the viability for a larger water-supply array, bolstering Fort Bragg’s “blue economy,” following successful operations since 2015 in Florida, Nova Scotia, and Chile.
