Pinoleville to Get Help from Ukiah With Loose Dog Issue

The Ukiah Police Department will soon provide animal control to the Pinoleville Pomo Nation reservation due to an increase in loose dog attacks, as Mendocino County hasn’t been able to resolve the issue. A Memorandum of Understanding, effective December 2024, outlines that Community Services Officers will respond to calls, with Pinoleville reimbursing Ukiah. Pinoleville has adopted Ukiah’s animal control codes, focusing on education for compliance.
