A high-speed police chase on U.S. 101 near Willits on Sunday evening reached 100 mph. The pursuit, stemming from a “Failure to Yield” incident, began southbound, then reversed to northbound. Wet roads added to the danger. The chase continued at 100 mph near South Main at Bechtold, then westbound on Highway 20, with Willits Police in pursuit. At 10:01 p.m., the suspect abandoned a black Honda sedan at West Valley and McKinley and fled on foot, with officers in pursuit. The driver’s name has not been released.
