Fort Bragg has an interim police chief. Eric Swift has been chosen to serve until late 2025, following Chief Cervenka’s retirement. With extensive law enforcement experience, Swift focuses on department stability, staff support, community trust, and the CARE program. He is reviewing five years of Internal Affairs cases and plans to work with Project Sanctuary to improve domestic violence reporting. Swift is considering applying for the permanent position.
