New Courthouse in Ukiah About to Set Steel

Ukiah’s new courthouse construction on East Perkins Street will see a 265-foot crane installed this week to set the structural steel for the three-story, 82,000-square-foot complex. Steel installation is expected through early October, followed by roof and floor decking in November, aiming for completion before the rainy season. This $144 million project replaces the 1951 downtown courthouse, featuring seven courtrooms, secured judicial parking, and about 160 public spaces. The contemporary design, adjacent to the historic Ukiah Railroad Depot, is expected to be completed in 2027.
