A Ukiah resident is pursuing a recall of Mendocino County DA David Eyster, citing his ego and associated costs, including legal fees in the dismissed case against former Auditor Chamise Cubbison. Cubbison is now seeking back pay and damages, with the county spending over $250,000 resisting her claims. Helen Sizemore stated she wouldn’t pursue the recall if Eyster’s term hadn’t been extended to 2028. Sizemore is preparing the petition and will have 160 days to collect around 8,200 signatures, followed by a 30-day verification period. Eyster has not commented on the recall effort.
