Congressman Mike Thompson, with Luca Moretti, visited Lake County on Thursday for the Judges Breakfast and a town hall. The visit precedes the Nov. 4 election and the vote on Proposition 50, the Election Rigging Response Act, signed by Gov. Gavin Newsom on Aug. 21. This measure addresses Texas’s redistricting to increase Republican seats. If California redistricting were approved, Thompson’s District 4 would move south, including parts of southern Lake, Napa, and Sonoma counties, and the southern Sacramento Valley. Northern Lake County would become part of a new District 1, encompassing parts of Mendocino, Sonoma, Glenn, Tehama, Butte, Plumas, Sierra, and Lassen counties.
