Mendocino County Board Votes to Keep Tax Sharing Agreement

Mendocino County’s Board of Supervisors has voted to keep the tax sharing agreement due for renewal with the county’s four cities after the city of Ukiah assured the board it would reevaluate its Ukiah Valley Reorganization Plan. Ukiah Mayor Doug Crane said the plan as it stands was a big mistake. Fifth District Supervisor Ted Williams suggested tabling the item and allowing the board’s ad-hoc committee, made up of supervisor Bernie Norvell and 1st District Supervisor Madeline Cline, to meet with city representatives and gather more information regarding the annexation proposal and how it will affect the county’s finances.
