Two lawsuits have been filed against Mendocino County and its Board of Supervisors over the scheduled demolition of a 1904-era water tower on Main Street in Mendocino. The town of Mendocino is a federally recognized historic district and has been since 1971. The tower’s owners say it is structurally unsound and should be removed. The tower is not listed in the Inventory of Historic Structures within the Mendocino town limits.
