The City of Ukiah will hold a town hall this evening at the Civic Center to discuss the annexation proposal that would bolster the city’s tax base and expand the acreage of the city by three times. Critics, including business owners, farmers and county leaders ae concerned that the annexation would violate an agreed-upon sphere of influence designed to protect agricultural land. The city council and staff have been criticized for ignoring the will of the people with regard to the annexation plan.
