The Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office announced its identified a man found shot dead in Covelo. Mid-May, the body of 30-year-old Jorge M. Zavalla Estrella of Vallecito was found in the area of Mina Road after a 911 call stating someone needed help for a friend and then the call disconnected. Estrella’s body was found in the area of an illegal marijuana grow, where another man was found shot and transported for treatment. Investigation into Estrella’s death, the other man’s shooting and the illegal grow operation continues.
