The City of Lakeport’s Police and Fire Departments are implementing their Illegal Fireworks Operations Plan for the Fourth of July. Areas where illegal fireworks were a problem in 2024 have been mapped for targeted enforcement, and all Lakeport PD officers will be deployed during peak dates, July 1st – 5th, with support from other local law enforcement. The Lakeport Fire Protection District will have extra personnel ready for rapid response. Police overtime for the operation will be funded by the fireworks sale surcharge.
