The Round Valley Indian Tribe has brought suit against the Mendocino and Humboldt County Sheriff’s Departments, along with the CHP, claiming officers illegally raided marijuana grows on the reservation. The complaint names three tribal members as plaintiffs and accuses the officers of terrorizing them and the community. Mendocino County Sheriff Matthew Kendall has said the Round Valley reservation has become a center for cartel activity, and that the raids were legal and requested by Round Valley members. The suit seeks an injunction against further raids on tribal lands.
