Lake County saw the jobless rate drop in April while state and federal employment numbers stayed steady. According to the state Employment Development Department, Lake County had a 6.8% unemployment rate in April, down from 7.3% in March. April of last year’s rate was 6.5%. Industries and employment sectors that showed growth included the federal government, mining, logging, and construction, leisure and hospitality, financial activities, and other services.
