Midweek, an explosive device was reported near the Ukiah Valley Fire Authority. Battalion Chief Ryan Nelson said someone working on the yard found something in a nearby ditch that looked suspicious and reported it. The Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad reported to the site and used a robot to collect the device and it was then detonated. An investigation into who might have placed the device is underway.
