Officers performing a welfare check on Ebbing Way in Fort Bragg on Tuesday ended up arresting a man on suspicion of attempted murder. Officers arrived on the scene to hear a woman screaming for help. Officers forced the door and, after a brief struggle, subdued 67-year-old Christopher Grewer of Fort Bragg. Upon investigation, it was found that the Grewer and the woman had been arguing. he then physically assaulted her and threatened to kill her. The victim was transported to Adventist Health Mendocino Coast Hospital in Fort Bragg with multiple physical injuries. Grewer was arrested on charges of attempted homicide, domestic violence, false imprisonment, and violation of a court order. He was booked into the Mendocino County Jail on $500,000 bail.
