The Bureau of Land Management’s Ukiah Field Office has announced that prescribed burns are scheduled to begin Monday and may continue through the end of the month in Lake County’s Black Forest, located along Soda Bay Road, on the northeast side of Mount Konocti in Kelseyville. Roughly 36 acres of undergrowth and small trees have been hand-thinned by firefighters over the last three years. Burning will take place only when weather permits.
