The California Coastal Commission has agreed to change outdated timber-related zoning for 104 acres in the Fort Bragg headlands, including the Coastal Trail, owned by the city of Fort Bragg. The zoning will change that part of the former Georgia Pacific mill site from “timber resources industrial” to “public facilities.” The change will allow construction of a Science Center. The rezoning does not affect the remaining 300 acres of the site owned by the Mendocino Railway.
