Lake County Superintendent of Schools Says Students Will Remain Chief Focus Despite Federal Pressure

Lake County’s Superintendent of Schools has made a statement regarding the Trump Administration’s call on states to adhere to its new policies, including the fact that federal school funding will be contingent on the exclusion of DEI programs in the state. This value is not adopted because federal law demands it, but because it reflects who we are as a Lake County community and what we, the community, believe. Our commitment to nondiscrimination would remain unchanged even in the absence of Title VI.”
