Fort Bragg Moves Forward With Broadband Project

Fort Bragg is getting ready to begin construction on its Municipal Broadband Utility Project. In its first phase, the citywide fiber network will have a centralized data hub and 15 distribution areas, allowing crews to work in segments across neighborhoods when installing and repairing the network. Phase two will involve installing service drops to individual properties when service is requested. City Manager Isaac Whippy said high-speed internet is a necessity, and the project will make the city a more connected community.
