Mendocino College has purchased property at the corner of Perkins and Main Streets in downtown Ukiah to build affordable student housing. The Mendocino College Foundation funded the purchase of the property from Redwood Credit Union and has committed to additional funding to construct that housing. A study shows that 97% of students think student housing would be important for retention and recruitment. President/Superintendent of Mendocino College Tim Karas has said the downtown location is ideal, providing access to downtown services and easy transportation to campus.
