Lake County Board of Supers Asking for Halt to Scott Dam Removal

At last month’s meeting of the Lake County Board of Supervisors, the board asked PG&E and state and federal agencies to reconsider decommissioning the Scott Dam. MendoFever reports the board warned that the loss of that reservoir threatened water security for well over a half million residents in the area, as well as increasing wildfire risk and devastating local agriculture. The board is demanding answers, as PG&E’s final draft application includes plans for agricultural restoration for Humboldt County, but not for Lake County.
