Portions of Lake County to See Mosquito Spraying Today

In order to cut down on the number of mosquitos this spring, the Lake County Vector Control District will be aerial spraying the marshalands next to the lake between Clear Lake State Park and Lakeport, parts of Anderson Marsh State Park, a small section east of the Clearlake Keys, and a small area near Bridge Arbor South in north Lakeport. TheLakeCountyNews reports the treatment is scheduled throughout the day today, with weather permitting. The district’s winter monitoring program has found large numbers of mosquito larvae in those areas after water lines rose due to the recent heavy rains. Residents may see a yellow crop duster flying at low altitude over those areas. For more information, go to lcvcd.org.
