Mendocino Coast Recreation District Board Approves Municipal Service Review and Talks Recreational Opportunities

The Mendocino Coast Recreation and Park District board at its last meeting approved a review of municipal services and expansion of recreational opportunities on the South Coast. The hiring of a new recreation coordinator has facilitated the launch of youth flag football, swimming lessons and skate nights. Flag football is soon to become an Olympic sport, so that program is a point of focus for the district. A grant has been awarded to support skate nights and the district is bringing back its horseshoe tournament. The service review will provide the data needed to make informed decisions regarding municipal services. The next meeting of the board will be March 19th in Point Arena.
