A man suspected of stealing a vehicle from an Enterprise Car Rental office has been arrested after a high-risk felony stop by Ukiah Police officers. George Rathwick of Riverdale, California attempted to elude officers, finally pulling into an empty parking lot and prompting a standoff, where, as Rathwick later confessed, he could force officers into shooting him without harming anyone else. The situation was de-escalated, and Rathwick was taken into custody. He was arrested and booked into the Mendocino Couty Jail on charges of possession of a stolen vehicle, resisting arrest, and possession of a controlled substance.
