At the meeting of the Clearlake City Council last week, a report by Police Chief Timothy Hobbs showed an overall drop in crime in the city in 2024 and the lowest number of traffic accidents since 2016. TheLakeCountyNews reports that the statistics also showed officers making fewer traffic stops but issuing more citations. There was a drop of almost 15% of incidents of crime from the previous year and crimes against persons dropped by almost 22%. The drop from 2023 to 24 was shown in practically every category of the report.
