The Lakeport City Council heard a report last week from the Lakeport Police Department citing crime statistics from last year, and the report said there was a decrease in traffic offenses and most crimes, with the exception of assaults. There, according to Sgt. Ryan Cooley, there was an increase of over 50% when compared to 2023 and 22, but still not nearly as high as 2021, when there were 90 cases in the city.
