A documentary produced by two sisters from Mendocino County has brought attention to the issues of rising tension between ranchers and large-scale marijuana grows in the area. Keely Brazil Covello and Michaela Brazil Gillies produced the documentary, “High Country Murder” about the unsolved murder of rancher Richard Drewry, who was found dead in his truck in January 2021. It’s thought the Brazil sisters may have found evidence pointing to a local suspect, though the exact reason behind Drewry’s killing has yet to be determined. The documentary hopes to bring renewed attention to the case and to encourage the sharing of information within the community.
