Labor negotiations between the Yuba Community College District and its faculty union have finally reached a tentative agreement that will hopefully avoid a strike. The agreement was reached lated last week, with much needed compensation and benefits increases. In a joint statement put out on Friday, Yuba Community College District Chancellor Dr. Shouan Pan and Dr. Travis Smith, the faculty union’s president said the agreement represents the shared commitment of both parties to fostering excellence in education, advancing equity, and ensuring the success of every student they serve.
