A Ukiah teen 2as arrested after a shoplifting incident at the Express Mart on East Gobbi Street. Sunday, Ukiah PD officers were dispatched after a call from an employee. The youth entered the store and placed items in his backpack, then refused to return them when confronted by the store clerk. A struggle ensued when the clerk tried to confiscate the bag. The teen swung the bag, striking the employee in the head. EMS was called to treat the store clerk and they were transported to a local hospital. The teen was arrested and charged with robbery and assault with a deadly weapon. He was booked into the Mendocino County Juvenile Hall.
