A Clearlake man whose mental competence has been previously questioned has been charged with murder in the death of a man earlier this month. 55-year-old Martin Jimenez was arrested on the 4th for the murder of Jose De Jesus Gutierrez-Castillo after a standoff with law enforcement. Clearlake Police arrived at a home in the 5900 block of James Street to find Gutierrez-Castill dead in the residence with Jimenez refusing to leave the home. Jimenez is charged with two felonies, murder and assault with a deadly weapon with special allegations. He’s being held without bail in the Lake County Jail and his next appearance in court is scheduled for the 17th.
