PG&E Public Safety Power Shutoffs Scheduled for Election Day, Utility Says Its Prepared

PG&E estimates that roughly 20,000 customers in 17 counties, including Lake County and four tribal areas could be affected by a planned Public Safety Power Shutoff scheduled to possibly begin tonight due to a potential wind event.   PG&E has been working with state and local officials to prepare, and five polling stations could be affected, including the one at the Calpine Geothermal Visitor Center in Middletown in Lake County.  Voting should be complete by the time the shutoffs might occur and generators have been staged at those locations just in case. There are no vote-counting stations within the scope of the possible power shutoffs.
