The Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office has released the name of an inmate who died in custody in October. During a routine check late evening on October 29th, 40-year-old Issa Niambele of Ukiah was found unresponsive on the floor of his holding cell. Lifesaving measures were implemented and he was transported to Adventist Health Ukiah Valley. He was pronounced dead shortly after midnight on the 30th. An autopsy was performed and the coroner’s office is awaiting toxicology results before determining his cause of death.
