Another prescribed burn is slated to take place at Shamrock Ranch in Laytonville today. CalFire reports the operation is expected to continue through the week, starting at around 8 am and ending at around 3 pm each day through Friday. About 500 acres will be involved in the burn, all part of the state’s efforts to reduce fuels as part of the California Fire Plan and California Wildfire and Forest Resilience Action Plan. Smoke and firefighting aircraft may be visible from the surrounding area and U.S. Route 101.
