Scheduled prescribed burns continue in Mendocino County. One of a series of burns at Shamrock Ranch near Laytonville is expected to continue through Friday, that burn involves about 600 acres of mixed habitat. Cal Fire will start another burn in the Jackson Demonstration State Forest today, Tuesday. That burn will happen daily for the next three or four weeks in 280 acres of timber understory. The third burn will start tomorrow, Wednesday at the University of California’s Hopland Research and Extension Center and will continue daily through Friday. That fire will cover about 150 acres. Smoke and firefighting aircraft may be seen in those areas.
