At the meeting of the Lake County Board of Supervisors, the emergency declaration for the Glenhaven Fire was ratified. Supervisor Jessica Pyska said the use of a portable Starlink satellite set up at the scene that provided internet connectivity was a “game changer”, allowing the Sheriff’s office to gain assistance from other agencies rapidly. Also, the use of a special fire hose designed to allow water to be drawn directly from the lake was very successful. That equipment was funded by the Habematolel Pomo tribe of Upper Lake. The Glenhaven fire was 90% contained by late Tuesday night.
