Governor Newsome has declared a state of emergency for Clearlake as a result of the Boyles Fire. Initial cost estimates of the economic impact are in the millions, after 35 homes, 32 garages and outbuildings and 79 vehicles were destroyed, with numerous others damaged. More than 4,000 residents had to evacuate their homes. The declaration by the governor will allow Clearlake to request help from state agencies to recover.
